Pan : where the camera horzionilty swivels from a fixed position right to left or left to right . A Pan can be used in a film to reveal a character or new information or a new setting these details can be hidden to the audience to add suspense and surprise the audience . Films like whiplash and vertigo use pan movements .

Tilt :The camera vertically moves from a fixed position up to down or down to up . A tilt can be used in a film to not only reveal a character but what the character is looking  at  that the audience may not be able to see  and can focus on new information .Films like Star wars as they always use a downward tilt for the credits .
Ped :short for pedestal camera physically moves up and down whilst looking forward. A ped is good to used in films because you can see everybody in film so it tells more of story  and reveal more information to the audience by the camera moving slowly upwards  which has a sense of menace and threat to the audience . The ped movement can make people seem more taller and intimating also like  in toy story when woody sees buzz for the first time . 

Dolly : camera smoothly moves forwards and backwards. The dolly technique is used in films  by moving forward towards objects or people making them seem bigger it suggested to the audience that they should focus on  the character that the camera is moving towards or if the camera is moving away it shows the space around it or possibly a stylistic choice. Films that use the dolly movement are raging Bull because Martin Scorsese to make the audience feel like they are in Jake LaMotte's shoes .

Track :camera moves from side to side but still looks forward. in films track is good for following a conversation between two people or showing a new character coming onto a screen . 

POV shot  : point of view where the camera shows what the character is looking at in first person and the camera acts as the eyes for character and the audience sees what the character sees and feels the way the character is feeling .A movie s  that have POV movement  such as the Terminator because it allows the audience to see what the terminator saw but also what his character was like and his emotions with situations and people .
Steadicam :Is a camera movement  used when walking and allows audiences to experience the natural environment and embrace the story .A films like Rocky , the shinning but mainly in Goodfellas in the scene when Henry and Karen go into Copacabana the Steadicam technique shows and tells the audience about the story but shows us the lives of been a gangster .
Zoom :camera is fixed but the lens moves closer or further away from an object .The film that zoom in it is Jaws when the shark is spotted on the shore by chief broody . The camera zooms in on the character while moving physically backwards creating a disorienting visual effect  showing the audience the fear  and shock of chief Brody as the shark comes towards him  perfectly .
crane :Camera is fixed to a crane and moves around in the air .The film most famous for having crane shots in is Gone with the wind in the scene  where dramatically Scarlett O'Hara  reveals  the  hundreds of  wounded soldiers hurt and died  from the battle.
