who invented cinema and what is the  cinema ?
Cinematography is the illusion of moment by recording and subsequent rapid projection of many still photographic pictures on screen . Cinema has become a medium of mass entertainment and commutation as well as part of the media . it is the a multi million pound industry .
Cinema wasn't really invented by anyone however in 1891 a company called the Edison  company  successfully created a product called kinetoscope which allowed people at a time to view moving images.
The first Public kinetoscope took place in 1893. By the year 1894 Kinetoscope were a commercial success around the world with places being built all over the world to watch films through them this was only the start of the film industry.
The first people to present projected moving pictures to a audience was the Lumiere brothers
in Paris , France  in December 1895 which was made from a device that they made themselves the cinematographe which had a camera , a projector  as well as film printer all in one . The Lumiere brothers made a short film called workers leaving the factory which was only about 15 seconds long at the time but audience loved it .
The first film every made was called the Round hay Garden scene which was only 2 second scene as technology to make    films longer had not been invented  yet . It was created and directed by Louis Le Prince who was a French artist  and a French artist  and inventor of early motion  picture camera .The Round hay Garden was a silent film  and featured 4 actors of the time leisurely strolling through the park it might seem boring  to you and I but to  an audience in 1888 they loved it .
George Melies was born on the 8th of December 1861 and a French former magician and actor and film director .He became involved with film as a way to further his obsession with illusion and is well known as the 'God father of special effects. he made a few films in just one take he made a film called trip to the moon or in French (le voyage da lune ) . This film is more developed then the Lumiere brothers film or Round hay garden scene as it has sound and you can tell that it has been planned more with the help of storyboards and characters are involved and it tells a story .

Early Film what were they like ?
At first films were very short sometimes not very long  only a few even less than that. Back when films first came out  they were shown at fairgrounds , music halls or where they could be a screen set up and room be darkened . The films were mostly short comedies or views of foreign landscapes . Films were not silent as people expected they often had music and audience participation .

Cinema Golden age
The 1930s  most films were made to have full length features as well as synchronized sound  . In the mid 1930 the use of using full  colour was introduced . the use of sound  secured the dominant role in the  American industry  and gave the rise of the title so call "Golden age of age ".In 1930s and 1940s the cinema was very popular and at its  prime . Back then many people used to go their twice maybe three times  a week for entertainment  purposes .By adding super cinemas or picture palaces  offering extra facilities such as cafes and ballrooms came to many towns and cities  they could hold up 3,000 people in a single auditorium .
In Britain the highest attendance to a Cinema in 1946 with over 31 million people visiting the cinema each week .
The rise of the film industry
By 1914 several national film industries were created . America was less important as countries such as Europe , Russia and even Scadovia  had become dominate industries .Films became longer , narrative and story telling this is called dormant form.
As people went to see more movie and paid to see more movies the industry .The industry which grew around them the industry is invested to paying money for  production , distribution and exhibition . This is also means bigger cinemas for people go for  entertainment  purposes and to increase the income for the media industry .
Adding colour
The first time colour was added to black and white movies by hand colouring , tinting ,toning  as well as stencilling .In 1906 the principles of colour  were used to produce something called natural colour using the British kinemalcolor process.
kinemacolor  was used in mainly in documentaries but famously used in "with our king and our queen through India "but known by the title( Delhi Durbar) 0f 1912 which has a ruining time of 2 hours .
Something called early technicolour process from 1915 onwards was expensive and colour was not used more widely until its three colour process in 1932 . technicolour was used for films such as gone with the wind as well as the wizard of oz (both in 1939 )in Hollywood and A matter of life and death ( 1946) in UK. The Beatles Magical Mystery tour movie which was made in 1967  but it was made in technicolour  as that was its purpose a psychedelic adventure even if people did say  they got on black and white on their TVs at home .
cinema vs. Tv
how have the cinema attendance change ?
Cinemas have been fighting for the top spot of television  but never have regained that title or influence  they heled of the golden ages in 1930s or the 1940s . Over the next 30 years audiences dwindled by 1984 in Britain cinema attendances had declined to one million a week..
In 2000 a multiplex cinema was built in Milton Keyes to persuade more people to go the cinema more and enjoy the cinema as   a source of entertainment  which was a big success  and sparked interested in the general public .
However not like the 2000s more people   in todays generation  watch films on tv at home  or stream film content on computers , tablets and mobiles phones  is more popular and more common and because we use mobile phones in our everyday life it becomes part of our lifestyle . . There is a lot more streaming platforms to watch and download  your  favourite shows also such as Netflix , ITVX , BBC iplayer and Disney plus .
how did cinema compare with TV ?
The introduction of television in America  prompted  a number  of technical experiments designed to maintain public interest in cinema . In 1952 the Cinerama processes with the use of three projectors  and a wide curved screen together with a multi  track surround sound was shown to the audience at the  large ratio of  2 .59:1 which gives the audience a sense of immersion and proves to be popular .
