Interpretation of the brief
My stop motion animation has to be two minutes long but a maximum of three minutes  and film around the college on Thursdays . The audience  is aged between 15 to 45 years old so is very varied the finish film must include audio and text and the deadline is October 31st.
My stop motion animation practice
what went well ?
In my stop motion animation  I worked  with Ruby  we created a storyboard as well a great storyline . I think the photos the photo were really  good.
what could be improved ?
Next time if I was asked to created a stop motion animation I would use more clips as  it wasn't very long and the story didn't make sense as it all went into one .As well as use a tripod to get the good camera angles.
My storyboard of my practise stop motion .
My storyboard for my stop motion assignment "Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets  car scene ".
Here is some behind the scenes photos of me doing me stop motion I took more of people and people took more of me put sadly they got removed as I didn't email them too myself   and I  forgot to  remove them from the card to the computer.
My stopmotion
stop motion  Evaluation
What did I learn during this project ?
In this project I learned about the different types of animation such as Claymation , puppet animation , cut out animation and stop motion animation  what movies uses them from my research I know that Coraline uses stop motion as I watched it in lesson to gain more of a understanding of how use it in my project .
In my project  I learned how to be more creative and make props as I made a made a big castle prop to make it look like Hogwarts as I did harry Potter and the chamber of Secrets Car scene I also made some clouds to stick onto a blind  and moved the car upwards so it look it was flying in the sky like it did in the movie .
I also Incorporated Mis en scene as I had all my correct objects in my scene that I needed to have.
What were my strengths ?
I think my strengths in this project were always been in collage everyday and getting on with the shooting my stop motion animation and I had shoot plan and time plan I completed every week   . I also got some good photos for my stop motion and my communication with others in the room where I was working was good because if anyone of us needed us help with moving something on our stop motion someone would help us as I would with them .
What areas do I need to develop ?
I need  to develop my time management as I didn't get mange to my project finished due to technology difficulty and I think I also need to work on practical skills such as using a tripod as I dint use a tripod during the first half of my film I thought I  didn't need to to but now I think I wish I did as I think it would have made my first few shots more stable
Did you face any challenges during this project ?
Some of the cameras stop working as well as the light bars which was difficult to work with however the most difficult task that I had to face when premiere pro kept updating and my computer been slow and then premiere pro not loading on my computer so then I swapped computer but it did eventually get to my stop motion animation on that one but I  am process of editing in all together and didn't get it finish on the time it was meant to
Did you deal with challenges well ?
I was a bit stressed that I wasn't going to finished in time but I had to deal with technology struggles .
How did I work with other with in the assignment ? Very well I helped other people  and people helped me with my project too with their stop motion videos by moving objects and also taking some behind the scenes photos for people .
Did the final outcome match my plans ?
No  and yes it didn't because I was aimed to get finished and added audio as well as text  I think I need to improve my time management skills  and the technology problem but yes as I managed to get take a lot of photos for my stop motion .
Is there anything differently I would do next time if I did this project next time ?
I would save my behind the scenes photos some where safe so I had them on my phone  as well as the computer and made sure I use the tripod a bit more for filming  and make sure to move the object a lot slower as some shots  my objects are moving fast .

what I already know about stop motion  animation is that you take a photo and then move the object very slowly and that it  stop motion needs to tell a story and there are three different types clay motion , puppet animation and cut out animation .
My inspiration for my film I was not sure about at first but I am going to harry potter and the chamber of secrets the car scene with Harry and Ron using Lego figures .
Props and resources I will need is possibly Lego as well as make some back drops and some things provided by college e.g camera , tripod .
I will get a couple of friends to help me shoot the stop motion animation and move the props .
I think I will film the scene all in one go .
I will add text for speech between characters and music to engage the audience
This is my shot plan for this week . consists  of what my brief plan is  my equipment list is and my pre production plan. For team I may have help from friends to help move objects for my film .
Time plan for this week
Shot plan for this week consists  of what I need to to do by the due date October 31st . I will need help moving props by a few friends in my group .
This is my time plan for this week ready for October the 31st .
stop motion animation  stop motion animation also called stop frame animation is animation that is captured one frame at a time with physical objects that are moved between frames .
Films  such as Wallace and Gromit , Corpse bride , Fantastic Mr fox and Coraline as well as many others use stop motion animation .
Clay motion : is one of the many forms of  stop  motion animation  and is where each  animated piece  either character or  background is deformable made of a malleable substances usually clay .
The first Wallace and Gromit  A Grand Day Out made in 1989 by the  film company Aardman  is a perfect example of clay motion because they are shot using the stop motion technique. To make the film perfect they need a detailed storyboard ,set and plasticine models construction to make the characters to come to alive . The Wallace and Gromit films  are shot one frame at a time moving the models of the characters  ( made out of clay ) slightly  to make it look like the characters are moving for the finally film .
Chicken Run Dawn of the nugget  made in  2023  by Aardman is another example of clay motion . For this film like wallace and gromit  they nedded to create animals (chickens ) which took a while as they had make the chickens by sculpting them perfectly  and for big group scenes 800 chicken wigs were made  and more than 150000 feathers were hand painted .Most of the day the chickens had 14 mouths  and all of this work just to take the Aardman Clay motion finsh .
cut out animation : is one of the forms of  stop motion animation  using flat characters ,props and backgrounds cut from materials such as paper , card or even photographs .
James and the giant peach is a film made in 1996 based on Roald dahl  novel is an example of cut out animation  but also a bit of puppet animation too. the director has to decide how all of the characters should look and act and the puppet making team have to make the characters from scratch and make them perfect .
Crystal Tipps and Allister is a tv show made in 1975 and is a perfect example of cut out animation because two of the main characters use the animation type cut out animation type . To make this tv show perfect the tv company called Q3 London  would have to make the characters from paper or card or other materials or even take photos of what they wanted the characters and also make storyboards  for the episodes for what the story the characters are going to do .
puppet animation : A type of animation where puppets , dolls or figures tell a story .
Team America :World police is a comedy and action film made by Trey parker in 2005  and is a perfect example of puppet animation as most of the characters are dolls or figures acting as soldiers . For this film to be successful the director trey parker would need to get his creative time to create all of the dolls perfectly as well as editor and production team to create a good storyboard for this story to come live and to make sense as well as his jokes about American culture to get into the script too.
Pinocchio a new adaption of the 1940 film made in 2022 made by Disney and directed by Robert Zemeckis  is another example of puppet animation as Pinocchio the puppet comes to life by the magic of a fairy which makes the puppet animation happen . For this film to be a Disney classic it is  it needs to have a good design team to make sure Pinocchio is perfect and puppet like and a good storyboard .
